The market was first introduced in early 2020 when Castle Gate was still developing and has grown significantly as it enters its fourth year.
Waterkloof residents flocked by the hundreds to Castle Gate shopping centre for the second craft market of the year.
Every third Friday of the month, shoppers are treated to some of the finest and unique foods, entertainment and crafts from local small vendors.
The market was first introduced in early 2020 when Castle Gate was still developing and has grown significantly as it enters its fourth year.
“I think with Castle Gate and the market, if you want to enjoy yourself, have a lekker bite, do a bit of light shopping, this is the ideal destination,” said Castle Gate operations manager Willem Burger.
Market organiser Keegan Becker, who works in conjunction with Atterbury Properties, said the market started with one line in the parking lot in 2020 and has since expanded to more than 70 vendors.
“Ideally, and this is what we pride ourselves on, we want people to have access to the best foods, crafts, desserts, boutique artisanal products (all hand-made) and locally produced goods that you can find right here in Pretoria. We source vendors from wide-out, some of them come all the way from Joburg but we strive to give Pretoria businesses a platform to be able to showcase what they have and engage with the community,” Becker said.
He said they look forward to levelling up this year, finding more locations and bringing spaces where people can promote and create memories.
